Madera Once

Madera Once is a vibrant four-piece band from Chicago, Illinois, that infuses traditional Mexican-regional and Latin American music with a modern twist. Dedicated to preserving and reimagining this rich musical heritage, Madera Once connects deeply with both musicians and audiences in the United States. The band has performed at renowned Chicago venues, including opening for La Santa Cecilia at the Concord Theater in 2019, and gracing stages like the Green Mill, The Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and Mole de Mayo.

Their debut EP, amado., released in 2019, showcases their unique sound. Currently, Madera Once is crafting their follow-up EP. The band features Jose Alfredo Guerrero (vocals/guitar), Mario Hernandez (bass), Alex Tellez (drums/percussion), and Javier Martinez (accordion, requinto, guitar).
