Luis Ernesto was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in 1988 into a family of artists. He is the grandson of Eduardo “el negro” Rodriguez, a famous tango singer from Cuenca. At age 6, Luis began studying singing and performed as a soloist in the “Coro De Niños de la Universidad de Guayaquil.” He continued in various choirs until age 23 and founded the folk group “Código Social.” Luis toured as a tenor soloist in countries including Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Poland, and Italy. He debuted as the tenor soloist in the symphonic-choral work “La misa popular ecuatoriana” alongside his brother, Cesar Rodriguez.
Luis gained TV fame as a finalist in Ecuador’s version of “The Voice” in 2016. He was nominated for Tropical Pop Artist of the Year in 2022 for his song “Lo Siento.” In the same year, he moved to Miami, Florida, where he performed with “La Línea Band” and headlined the “Festival del Pasillo,” endorsed by the Ecuadorian consulate in Florida. Broward County honored him as an ambassador of Ecuadorian music. In 2024, Luis moved to Tennessee to pursue a career in music production.
